WISH, WANT, WILL HAVE: what Fiona Klonarides, Beauty Shortlist Editor can't live without this month

About Us page component.

Every month we ask either one of our brand founders or an industry expert to tell us about the things they can't live without - be it beauty or beyond. Selecting from our range of brands across Skincare, MakeUp, Tan, Fragrance and more, we ask why they chose the products and what makes them stand out. This month we asked Fiona Klonarides, Editor of The Beauty Shortlist and good friend of ours, to pick her favourite beauty finds at MyShowcase.
Just in case you didn't know, Fiona has the wonderfully difficult task of finding new, innovative products in beauty on almost a daily basis. Keeping her eyes peeled for genuinely effective and brilliant product is part of her role when she selects the winners of the Beauty Shortlist awards each year (some of which our brands have already scooped).

My Weekend Wishlist, chosen by Fiona Klonarides.

The busier our week, the more precious our weekends are and one of the things Ive started doing is switching off totally from all things digital and work-related at 6pm (precisely!) on a Friday. The pay off is priceless and you realise most things can wait until Monday morning. Divorcing the laptop on Friday nights to give it a break as well has definitely made my weekends richer, longer and more relaxing.

1. The Lipstick - T. LeClerc's 'Tweed'
This transparent lipstick is a great go-to shade for everyday.

2. The Bath -  Beatitude's Joy Bath Oil

Scottish aromatherapist Rebecca O'Connor first sent me a bottle of Joy (now that's a lovely thought!) a few years ago. Orange, Mandarin, Grapefruit, Bergamot and Petitgrain it's the most uplifting bath fragrance I know, no slippery bath tub either, as the oil disperses in the warm water.

3. The Self-Tanner  - James Read's Gradual Tan
Weekends are when I really get round to those beauty rituals like long baths, exfoliating, body brushing and self-tanning sessions and I swear by James Read's Gradual Tan For The Face (Medium) a“ its subtle, easy to apply and you can build it up for deeper colour. Great in summer and a bit of a beauty lifesaver in winter for me!

4. The Balm that does more than one thing - Dr Lipps' Multi-purpose product
Lanolin is one of the least glam sounding beauty ingredients on the planet but Dr. Lipp Nipple Balm is one of the most useful tubes that lives in my bag. Natural and ultra-protective, I squeeze it on dry patches on my elbows, on lips and it'™s fab for unruly eyebrows (not mine!), as well as cuticles and split ends. Thank you, sheep!

5. The Cleanser - Aurelia Probiotic Skincare's Miracle Cleanser
Take one luxe pot of cream cleanser, infuse it with probiotics, peptides and eucalyptus, rosemary, chamomile and bergamot essential oils and what have you got? A beauty miracle, basically. The word œmiracle in beauty reminds me of those over-hyped American TV ads“ miracle weight loss, miracle makeover, miracle fill in yours here, etc. but this is hand on heart one of the best cream cleansers I™'ve ever used and it has a great feel good nature-meets-spa scent. Aurelia have come up with the kind of product that ends up on auto-reorder - its hard to live without this once you've discovered it.

6. And finally, nature
I think some of us have unintentionally lost touch with nature (no time to get out, working in big cities, glued to our iPhones and tablets too much of the time) but we're reconnecting again with the healing power of nature through plant-powered beauty products, cooking, allotments, and weekend activities like hiking and foraging.
A long weekend walk (even better with a dog!) is one of the best tonics I know. There's a beautiful quote by the poet Lord Byron which sums it up perfectly: There is pleasure in the pathless woods, there is rapture in the lonely shore, there is society where none intrudes, by the deep sea, and music in its roar: I love not Man the less but Nature more.
